Harp Isles Skill Tree Research Planner

One file, one node, one safe hole — then go eat.

Research Planner

Research in Harp Isles costs a file and time. This planner is the order of operations so you do not start a vanity node while hungry. Pair it with the skill tree guide and crafting.

Before you click Research

  • You are not a starving juvenile. Finish the starter planner first.
  • You have a file (pickup or oven).
  • You have cover for the wait — cave, nest, canopy. Disasters do not care about your timer.
  • You know your fork. Speed versus health wants different nodes. Subspecies.

Default spend order

  1. Stay alive — hunger, thirst, defense, venom resist if a flytrap already embarrassed you.
  2. Leave alive — stamina, swim, torque, brakes. Flight nodes only if the species can fly now, not “as an adult someday.”
  3. Win a fight — bite, lunge windows, damage. Pack players can rush this. Solo players cannot.
  4. Luxury — cosmetics-adjacent nodes, call radius, nest flex. Last.

If the live tree uses different labels, map them to those four buckets. Do not invent a fifth bucket called “YouTuber said.”

Stack the wait

Start the node, then:

  • Run a food/water loop (how to grow).
  • Kill one dart plant if you need the next file.
  • Claim nothing during a tornado.
  • Do not queue a trade.

Advanced files are for later nodes. If you only have advanced files, still follow the same buckets — do not skip to a capstone because the icon is shinier.

One tree, not five Avatars

Tester missions asked you to complete one tree. That is the planner’s win condition. Spreading files across five bodies is how you own a zoo of toddlers.

When to respec (if you even can)

If the live game has no respec, every node is permanent. Play like it is permanent even if a refund exists. Hope is not a build.

Event weeks

During Ashes Awakening, prefer survival and leave-alive nodes. Boss weeks punish greed trees. Recheck this planner after the updates hub logs a patch that changes wait times.

If a script says it completes the tree, that is a ban with extra steps — script safety. The planner is the legal skip: fewer wrong clicks.

Timer stacking examples

  • Start research, then oven the next file, then eat, then nest check, then claim nothing if the sky is wrong.
  • Start research, then practice three landings from how to fly over water, then drink.
  • Start research, then mute and listen for disaster audio, then ping the pack.

Bad stacking: start research, open a trade, AFK. You will return to a crater.

Advanced files

Spend advanced files on the same bucket you already started, not on a new identity. A survival tree with one random damage capstone is a mess. If you only have advanced files, still buy survival if you are dying to venom and weather. Greed capstones wait for Ashes Awakening only if you already have an abort.

Write the node name down. When a patch shuffles the tree, you want to know what you actually bought. Memory lies; the updates hub plus a note does not.,

File budget for a normal evening

One world file plus one oven file is a good night. That is two nodes if you already stored one. Do not craft until you cannot walk. Eat first. If a disaster is painting the sky, the oven can wait. The tree will still be there. Your corpse will also be there if you stay.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Harp Isles questions.

What should I research first?

Survival, then mobility, then damage. Luxury last.

Can I start multiple researches?

Plan as if you have one active timer until the UI proves otherwise.

Where do files come from?

World pickups, ovens, and sometimes dailies or codes.

Do subspecies change the plan?

Yes. Health forks want survival. Speed forks want brakes and food economy, not more dive until you can land.
