Harp Isles Launch Recap
Four years, one recode, a slipped August, and a free public door.
Harp Isles is released. Public servers opened 29 August 2026. If you are reading a 2024 video that says the game is out for 100 Robux, that was a scam. If you are reading a January FAQ that says “June or July,” that window moved. This page is the recap you can cite.
The recode that made launch possible
Harp Atelier spent years in development. Late 2025, co-owners from Lock Draw Studios — Catboy Nathan and Vet, known for Claw Strike — joined a recode. In about two months they rebuilt locomotion (ground, flight, swim) to cut motion sickness, switched models to part colors, and put the project on a summer-2026 track. A December 2025 recode video is historical, not a patch note.
Dates that were announced
- January 2026 FAQ: summer 2026, June/July; free beta; PC/mobile/console; 11-creature beta target.
- May 2026: code complete; early access team dated 20 July.
- July 2026: closed early access for selected testers (on the order of a few hundred), with streams around 25 July. Mobile followed for testers. Public was “shortly after if nothing breaks.”
- July recaps: public talk around 13/14 August 2026 (some creator timezones printed the 14th at 3:00 a.m.).
- August: that public target slipped. Creator recaps pointed at 29 August 2026. The live place is named Harp Isles [LAUNCH ].
Early access was not a Robux beta. The FAQ said beta would not cost Robux. The live door is free. That promise is the whole anti-scam message.
What shipped as a game, not a trailer
Avatars, growth, hunger, thirst, combat, skill/tech trees, crafting stations, daily rewards, disasters (tornado, firenado, meteor, flood, earthquake, acid rain), packs, nests, customization palettes, map spawn pins, spawn cutscenes, NPC birds/fish/sharks/plants. Trading hub, mutations, and event creatures were promised as systems — check live UI before you write a guide around them.
What launch week is not
It is not Creatures of Sonaria with a new coat. It is not a paid early access. It is not the empty 2024 map. It is not “already out since July for everyone” — July was tester-gated.
Where to go next
- Play: official links.
- Learn: Getting Started.
- Track: roadmap and events.
- Ignore: any script that uses a 2024 thumbnail.
Day-two rows (pack overhaul leftover, first hotfix, codes) now live on launch-week notes. This recap stays the history. Discord is still the receipt.
Launch-week patch row (template)
When the first note lands we will fill:
- Date and time (with timezone)
- What broke (flight, files, disasters, trading)
- What to do (avoid X biome, delay Y research)
- Link to the guide that changed
Until that row exists, do not trust a random “HOTFIX” thumbnail. Launch recodes ship hotfixes; they also ship fake hotfix videos.
What players felt in previews
Late Kate-style recaps called gameplay enjoyable and slightly grindy, with skill trees and stations as the standouts, and some systems still janky before the August slip. They also noted a pack-system overhaul mid-EA and leftover bird-NPC / combat-depth complaints. That is the honest launch mood: playable, busy, not a finished Cos killer. If you arrived to “end Creatures of Sonaria,” you will be disappointed. If you arrived to fly an Avatar and research a tree, you are in the right year. Collision combat details are on the combat guide.
Play the official door, then Getting Started. History lessons are done. Hunger is not.,
